Join us Saturday September 30th for the Giant Pumpkin Weigh off held at Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm Pumpkin Fest in Lockport, IL.

Back in the 90’s Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm hosted the first Pumpkin Weigh Off in Will County. Well it’s back and we are real excited to see all the big amazing pumpkins. Come on out Sept 30th and support these Midwestern growers and their labor of love as they compete for cash prizes. Who will win?.

Everyone is welcome! The weigh off of these Giant pumpkins is on the farm for all ages to enjoy! Bring your camera because you wont believe they are real pumpkins when you see them up close! Over 1500 pounds in the past and two years ago Illinois’ largest pumpkin ever…grown locally in Joliet by Jeff Shenoha. (1,546 lbs!) Thats the size of a Giant Tractor Tire that is 5ft, isn’t that Amazing!
Growers will come from all over the Midwest! Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Iowa and even more! Come out for a great day of family fun. Maybe this year we will see the WORLD RECORD down on the farm here at Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm…you just never know!

HUGE PRIZE MONEY! Winners from 1st Place to 10th! Come out and support these growers and all their hard work they put into growing these amazing pumpkins!

Prettiest pumpkin over 500 lbs voted on by growers gets a Howard Dill Award and $100.

Heaviest pumpkin from an Illinois Resident grower wins $500

The winning pumpkin will be retained by Siegel’s until Nov. 1st. On that day I, Jeff Shenoha will personally retrieve the seeds from the winning pumpkin and will overnight deliver them wet or , dry them out and send them to the grower.Their call.

Registration is from 8 am to 10 am. Weigh off starts at noon. Only one official entry per contestant. If same family farm then each grower in family must grow their own plants and pumpkins individually. For $25 registration fee entries can weigh one official and one officially weighed exhibition pumpkin. 2 total unless they want to pay $15 additional fee for any pumpkin to be officially weighed besides the 2 that come with basic $25 registration fee.
